This course is a continuation of Spanish Language and Culture for Beginners III.
To enroll in this class, students should have a basic knowledge of the alphabet, numbers, seasons, dates, time, weather, family, occupations, introductions, and some introductory grammar such as present tense regular verb usage.
Using a communicative/conversational approach, students will review and expand their knowledge of beginning Spanish including conversation, listening, reading, simple writing, and basic grammar. Students will develop conversation skills about everyday life, travel survival skills such as shopping, likes and dislikes, food, health, travel, clothing, and directions.
The Spanish Culture component will focus on a general introduction to the Spanish-speaking world, with topics such as geography, history, literature, art, cultural values, beliefs and attitudes, and special topics.
