Drawing 101   



This is a 6-week program leading into drawing two. We will be covering the basics in drawing such as contour drawing, shading and perspective. This class is for those who have never picked up a pencil to draw and for those professional artists. (it’s always good to brush up on basics). This will be a fun, no stress class. I cater to the creatively challenged!

  • Week 1 - Introductions, shading, the value system
  • Week 2 - Line drawing and learning how to “see”
  • Week 3 - Drawing simple shapes and objects
  • Week 4 - Still life drawing and composition
  • Weeks 5 & 6 - Creating a frame worthy sketch and learning about subject matter as well as 1 point perspective.

SUPPLIES NEEDED

A drawing journal, pencil, sharpener and eraser will be needed on the first day. We will go over the supply list below in class.

  • Biggie Newsprint Pad
  • Set of drawing pencils 1~12 (optional)
  • Kneeded eraser
  • Ebony Pencils
  • Black vine charcoal
  • Red, white and black Conte Chalk
