Greco/Roman Art and the Art of the Renaissance
This course will look into the great works of art from the Western world.
We will study Hellenistic Greece with its cosmopolitain world and life styles, to the Etruscans, the Roman Republic and the mighty Roman empires.
These ancients influenced later cultures and artists, most significantly, Early, High and Late artists of the Renaissance, whose intensions were to give rebirth of Greco/Roman art.
