What is the TEAS® Test?

The ATI Test of Essential Academic Skills (ATI TEAS®) measures basic essential skills in the academic content area domains of reading, mathematics, science, and English and language usage. The ATI TEAS® (Test of Essential Academic Skills) is a new requirement for applying to FLCC’s A.A.S. nursing degree program. Studies show a consistent link between a student’s performance on the TEAS and future academic success in the health sciences.

TEAS® Test Information

  • Number of Sections = 4
  • Number of Questions = 170
  • Testing Format: Four-option multiple choice questions for both computerized and written examination

TEAS® Test Timing and Breakdown

Time limit = 209 minutes

  • Reading = 64 minutes
  • Mathematics = 54 minutes
  • English = 28 minutes
  • Science = 63 minutes

During COVID-19, if you register for a TEAS test you will be taking the on-line computerized version of the exam from your home or office.

The test must be taken on a desktop computer or laptop equipped with internal or external microphone, Webcam, 320x240 VGA resolution (minimum). No tablets, iPads, or cell phones allowed. You will be monitored throughout the testing process.

You will be contacted via email prior to the test and be sent instructions on how to prepare. The email will contain information about a trial run of your equipment, this trial run is mandatory to be completed prior to exam day. Please read the Student Study Guide prior to taking the exam. Please sign on at least ten minutes before test begins. Individuals must present a valid state/govt. issued photo ID.
