Intermediate ESL: English for Solving Real Problems
This course is for students at the intermediate level who want to expand their ability to navigate difficult, life situations through practice with real life and academic English. You will practice practical communication through:
• Learning language and cultural norms that will assist you in resolving real-life problems from store returns to landlord disputes
• Communicating formal complaints via spoken scenarios and role plays
• Writing strategic emails to communicate necessary information based on context
This course focuses on the four necessary skills for language learning: speaking, listening, writing, and reading. Through understanding how to navigate these situations, students will be better prepared to handle the complex situations life presents.
Note: There will be no class on September 7th for the Labor Day holiday.
