The EKG Technician Program prepares students for entry-level careers in cardiovascular diagnostics through a combination of classroom instruction and hands-on laboratory training. Participants develop the skills needed to perform electrocardiograms (EKGs), operate EKG equipment, and support quality patient care in clinical settings.
This comprehensive program provides a strong foundation in cardiovascular anatomy and physiology, 12-lead EKG procedures, patient safety, and cardiac rhythm interpretation. Students learn to recognize normal and abnormal rhythms, including potentially life-threatening arrhythmias, while building the practical skills required to work effectively as an EKG Technician. Upon successful completion, graduates are eligible to take the National Healthcare Association (NHA) Certified EKG Technician (CET) certification exam and pursue opportunities in the growing healthcare field.
