Sessions: 1 Tu – 6/13/2023 |
Time: 10:30 AM-12:30 PM |

Bedrock Gardens is an oasis for horticulture, art and inspiration. It has been described as a haven in the ever-expanding land of stoplights and traffic jams on our formerly quiet by-ways. Over the last 30 years, this 37-acre 1740's farm site was recreated as a unique garden journey through numerous outdoor rooms with artful installations, rare botanical collections, diverse habitats, and a whole lot of joy. When you tour this garden, you are supporting the non-profit Friends of Bedrock Gardens, as this private garden is currently in the process of transferring ownership from the founders so that it might be shared with the general public for generations to come. A tour through the garden with executive director John Forti will take from 1.5 - 2 hours. The terrain is flat to gently sloping and covers about 3/4 of a mile. There are many places to pause and lots of seating along the way. Feel free to bring a lunch and stay a while. Bedrock Gardens was named 'Best Cultural Oasis' by NH Magazine and described by the Boston Globe as "one of the most beautiful and intriguing landscapes in New Hampshire. "In accordance with current recommendations, no masks are required in the garden." However, masks are suggested in close encounters, such as in the bathrooms, or for your comfort.

Location: Conway Public Library, 15 Greenwood Avenue Conway, NH 03818 |

We will learn how to harvest native annuals responsibly, compare them to cultivars, and learn the importance of letting them go to seed for bird food and future plant propagation. The course’s first class will be held in the classroom while the last two classes will be site visits.
