Threat Analysis: Ethical Hacking Certificate   NEW!

Now, more than ever, organizations need to eliminate vulnerabilities and protect their customer and confidential data against security breaches. To accomplish this, many companies are turning to ethical hackers who conduct threat assessments by exploiting networks, servers and computers. Afterwards, the ethical hackers make valuable recommendations for fine-tuning security practices.

In this course, you’ll gain the ethical hacking knowledge to conduct a threat assessment; secure a network across popular platforms and operating systems; work with various types of threats and intrusion detection systems; and establish auditing and monitoring systems for vulnerabilities and threats without affecting performance. Seating is limited, so early registration is highly recommended.

Prerequisite: good understanding of the Windows OS, command line; exposure to Linux recommended, but not required; solid understanding of networking devices and principles, such as the TCP/IP and OSI stack, routing and switching devices, wireless systems, firewalls and virtual machines; and exposure to information security concepts, such as confidentiality, integrity and authentication.

Additional Information About This Course

  • This course has two required eBooks. Books will be purchased in class, utilizing a credit card. The approximate cost is $75 plus tax.
  • This is a hybrid course, requiring in-person attendance and online participation. We estimate you will spend approximately 15 hours per week on this course: 2.5 hours in class, 2.5 hours of additional preparation and 10 hours of homework.
  • This course requires the use of Canvas, a Learning and Management System. After you register for the course, you will receive instructions for signing up for a Canvas account. Please ensure you enter a valid email address during the registration process.
  • If you are interested in becoming a Certified Ethical Hacker, you must take the Certified Ethical Hacking Exam. In order to take the exam, you must have the required experience in security domains, as identified by the EC-Council, and must either take an additional course in Certified Ethical Hacking or demonstrate the additional knowledge and experience to the EC-Council. This course does not prepare you to take the exam.
  • To receive a Certificate of Completion, students must attend 80% of the course and complete all homework assignments, quizzes and tests. This is a non-graded course and does not count towards a degree program.
