Python is a versatile and easy-to-use language that's used by data analysts for data mining and data analytics. Learn the basics of Python by exploring the variables, expressions, functions and classes. Create basic programming structures using decisions and loops. Create code for data processing using Pandas for analytics.
Prerequisite: Data Analyst Certificate Part 1: SQL Server (4 Class Series) or SQL Server Certificate (4 Class Series) or proven SQL Server experience, which can be verified via the completion of an assigned project. Python is typically offered in Winter quarter each year, as Part 2 of the Data Analyst Certificate (see link below). Students wishing to enroll only in Python (and not complete the full Data Analyst Certificate) may do so as long as they meet the prerequisites listed above.

Data Analyst Certificate Program Completion
Data Analyst Certificate Part 2: Python Scripting is the fifth of eight required courses in the Data Analyst Certificate Program. To receive the Data Analyst Certificate, you must attend 80% of the first 7 courses (calculated by number of sessions in each course) and 100% of the Data Analyst Certificate Capstone course. You must also successfully complete the SQL Server and Data Analyst Capstone projects by the deadlines given. Please note: Saturday sessions over four hours in length count as two sessions.
