Property Management
Online, 27 clock hours
Property Management is a comprehensive introduction to managing investment real estate, including residential properties (apartment buildings and single-family rental homes) and commercial properties (office, retail, and industrial space). The topics covered include:
- the economics of real estate investment
- working with management clients
- management planning
- operating budgets and other financial aspects of property management
- marketing rental properties
- marketing property management services
- tenant selection and lease negotiations
- rent collection
- security deposits
- lease termination and eviction
- staffing managed property
- property maintenance
- laws affecting property management, and
- emergency preparedness, security, and insurance issues.
Registration, Payment and Refund Info
The date range listed in the Green River Continuing Education course registration (after the word “Date:”) is an open-enrollment period. This means you may register for and begin that course at any time during the quarter. Your online account will activate within a week* of your paid-in-full registration.
*If you wish to activate your online account sooner, after you register please send an email to CE@greenriver.edu requesting activation.
You will have six months from your activation date to complete the course.
Refunds for classes are given only within the first 14 days of account activation and only if the student has not begun any of the online courses.
Equipment
Students must have Internet access from a computer for training. Students can log on from any location at any time of day and pick up where they left off.
Non-Credit Courses
Real Estate courses are non-credit and do not count toward credit-bearing degrees or certificates at Green River College.
Not a Licensing Agency/Disclaimer
Students do not earn a broker’s license by completing the classes. This package fulfills one of the requirements for taking the state exam. Neither Green River College nor Rockwell Institute administer the state exam. Green River Continuing Education Department recommends that students research and understand the criteria for state licensing before enrolling in the course.
