2. Safely cut fabric

3. Do basic alterations

- Sewing machine with a button making capability and zigzag stitch in addition to a straight stitch.
- 60-inch measuring tape, thread, seam ripper, fabric scissors, pins or sewing clips and making tools
- Store bought pattern that uses non stretch fabric for beginners with no zippers
- Dritz French Curve Styling ruler
- Pin cushion for wrist or magnetic pin cushion
- Pattern weights
- Iron
