Aviation Summer Camp   

Embark on an exhilarating journey into the world of Aviation and Aerospace with this immersive summer camp experience! This dynamic program is designed to ignite a passion for flight and space exploration in young minds by offering a comprehensive introduction to the fascinating worlds of Aviation Technology, Aerospace Engineering and Space exploration. Participants will participate in grade-level appropriate project-based learning activities and exciting field trips curated to provide an in-depth understanding of the principles, innovations and advancements driving Aviation and Aerospace forward.
 

Aviation Summer Camp | Getting Rooted In Aviation (Exiting 6th - 8th graders)

  • In this summer camp experience, students will learn the basics of Aviation, which is the science of flying or operating an aircraft. Students will have the opportunity to participate in the Redbird Motion Simulator to experience being in a cockpit, and will visit the Air Traffic Control lab which will help in understanding what goes into traffic control behind the scenes to ensure planes reach their destinations safely. There’s also the Wind Tunnel experience, where campers will learn how air moves around an aircraft when it’s in flight.

    Camp start time is 9am, and camp end time is 3:30pm. Pick-up/drop off times will vary by drop-off/pick-up location selected in camper welcome forms prior to the start of camp. Earliest drop-off available is 8am and latest pick-up is 4:30pm.

  • Has your camper ever wondered what flying an airplane is like? Do they consider who is responsible for helping planes land safely? If you have heard these questions or know your camper is facinated by airplanes, this is the camp for them. Campers will learn about the basics of Aviation, which is the science of flying an aircraft, and will see the Redbird Motion Simulator to see what it’s like to fly an airplane. They will also be able to visit the Air Traffic Control lab, which will help campers understand what directing air traffic is like, and learn about how air moves around an aircraft when it is in flight by visiting the wind tunnel.

    Camp start time is 9am, and camp end time is 3:30pm. Pick-up/drop off times will vary by drop-off/pick-up location selected in camper welcome forms prior to the start of camp. Earliest drop-off available is 8am and latest pick-up is 4:30pm.

Aviation Summer Camp | Career Exploration in Aviation (Exiting 9th-12th graders)

  • This summer camp experience is catered for students who are curious about Aviation but are not sure if it’s a career path they would like to pursue. In this camp, you will learn basic and intermediate concepts in Aviation to expose you to industry trends. You will also experience the Redbird Motion Simulator (being in a cockpit), you will visit the Air Traffic Control lab where you will learn how to prevent aircraft collisions, organize and improve the flow of air traffic. Lastly, you will be able to visit the Wind Tunnel, a large tube that has air moving inside of it that copies the actions of objects in flight. All these experiences will help you understand what the prerequisites of an Aviation degree entail.

    Camp start time is 9am, and camp end time is 3:30pm. Pick-up/drop off times will vary by drop-off/pick-up location selected in camper welcome forms prior to the start of camp. Earliest drop-off available is 8am and latest pick-up is 4:30pm.
