In this summer camp experience, students will learn the basics of Aviation, which is the science of flying or operating an aircraft. Students will have the opportunity to participate in the Redbird Motion Simulator to experience being in a cockpit, and will visit the Air Traffic Control lab which will help in understanding what goes into traffic control behind the scenes to ensure planes reach their destinations safely. There’s also the Wind Tunnel experience, where campers will learn how air moves around an aircraft when it’s in flight.

Has your camper ever wondered what flying an airplane is like? Do they consider who is responsible for helping planes land safely? If you have heard these questions or know your camper is facinated by airplanes, this is the camp for them. This summer camp experience is catered for students who are curious about Aviation but are not sure if it’s a career path they would like to pursue. In this camp, you will learn basic and intermediate concepts in Aviation to expose you to industry trends. They will also make pinch pots, ornaments, molds and sculpt a pumpkin. Clay will be provided. Please note, this age group will be using the wheel.

Digging into Paleontology, Dinosaurs and Other Fossils: From tracks to skeletons to sedimentary rock, campers will delve into the fundamentals of paleontology through a variety of hands-on scientific activities on dinosaurs and other fossils. They will dig into the exploration of different types of fossils and their preservation in rocks from being buried to dug up, identified, prepared for public display, and how they are used to tell us about Earth¿s ancient past. No prior knowledge of science, dinosaurs or other fossils required.
