Solve a Central Illinois Mystery: What Happened to the Prairie?: Grades 6-8

McLean County boasts farmland of rich soil as far as the eye can see … but it was once a vast prairie. Solve the mystery of what happened to the prairie that existed in the days of Abraham Lincoln. Trek to the field each day to collect soil and water samples and survey plant and animal life. Then it’s back to the lab to analyze your data and determine if we can bring the bustling prairie back through restoration or if it’s gone for good. Please dress appropriately for the weather and be prepared to spend a significant amount of time outside each day.
