Expedition Environment: Grades 3-5

Get out! Be adventurous! Investigate! Join us in a bio blitz in Heartland’s 13-acre green space to understand how ecosystems change and respond around us. Back in the lab, investigate the impact of water pollution on biodiversity by looking at small living crustaceans called daphnia and seeing how they respond to environmental changes. Learn first-hand how to do field work safely, take samples, and set up your own experiments at home! Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, this class can start you on the path to earning a badge in environmental sciences. Leave with a greater appreciation of how important it is to protect our ecosystem.
