This course provides an introduction to Spanish with a focus on vocabulary and conversational skills relevant to health care settings. The course covers basic Spanish language instruction, Healthcare Terminology, and practice speaking Spanish via simulated real-life scenarios in the college’s language lab.
The course includes two days a week of instruction and one day of language lab.
The course is taught by a professor in the Hostos modern language program and is a college-level course equivalent to 3 credit hours. Students who complete this course are eligible for 3 college credits for SPA 110: Spanish for Healthcare Workers when they enroll in a college degree program at Hostos Community College.
