The curriculum follows the guidelines established by the New York State Department of Health, Bureau of Emergency Medical Services, and includes Basic Life Saving (BLS) trauma care, medical/ environmental operations and 7 practical exercises: patient assessment, air way management and oxygen initiation, bleeding control and fracture management, traction splinting, spinal immobilization, shock management and defibrillation.
