The role of the HIV Counselor is to enhance the well-being of people impacted by HIV. Students will obtain skills to identify high risk populations and manage barriers by effectively linking clients to appropriate resources.
The HIV Counselor course requires 40 didactic classroom education hours and 80 hours of clinical experience. The course is further enhanced by dedicatiing 4 hours of class time to improving study skills to ensure your overall success in the classroom and in the field. Students who successfully complete the HIV Counselor course will be awarded a certificate.
Prerequisite: Proof of GED® or High School Diploma
