Dental assistants perform a variety of tasks including patient care, taking x-rays and scheduling appointments. This course will familiarize students with the history of dentistry and the many functions of the dental office. Students will learn about the oral cavity and related structures, how to prepare patients for various types of dental treatments, clean and sterilize dental instruments and assist the dentist and/or dental hygienist by performing tasks such as using suction hoses, processing x-rays, properly noting dental charts and dealing with emergency situations. This program is ideal for students seeking entry level employment while pursuing a career as a Dental Hygienist.
Included in the course is 1 hour remedial English.
Tuition includes textbooks, lab materials and CPR.
