COURSE: This course is designed to provide the patrol officer and investigator with limited experience in death and related injury investigations, and a general insight into investigative, legal, and evidentiary considerations of this kind of investigation.
TOPICS TO BE COVERED INCLUDE: Initial scene investigation, Evidence documentation, handling, collection, and preservation, Wound identification recognition, Medico-legal recognition, Laboratory evidence analysis, and Crimes-specific investigations.
NOTE: Students should have successfully completed the basic recruit training program or have been exempted prior to taking this course. Students must attend all sessions of the course.
Students are required to pass an end-of-course examination with a minimum of 80%.
