COURSE DESCRIPTION: This 16-hour course reviews the rules for obtaining and analyzing breath samples during breath testing and meets the requirements to certify the breath test operator’s permit using the Intoxilyzer 9000 series instrument.Training will include the role of the breath test operator, the instrumentation used to analyze breath test samples, how to properly obtain reliable breath samples, and the proper way to administer a breath test using the Intoxilyzer 9000 .
COURSE TOPICS INCLUDE:
• Define breath test operator
• State the role of a breath test operator
• Understand the requirements outlining qualifications to apply and maintain a BTO permit

To attend this training the participant must be a Florida law enforcement officer, assistant state attorney, or Non-Sworn member employed by a law enforcement agency. There duties must include the administration of the Breath Test Operator.Non-Sworn Agency Members will require prior FDOT Approval before registration is complete.
