COURSE: This one-day course demystifies the fundamentals of budgeting in the criminal justice field and provides practical tools every manager should possess. Designed for both new and experienced law enforcement administrators and supervisors, this class focuses on developing the skills necessary to prepare, justify, and manage agency budgets with confidence.
This course has been updated to include considerations for impact from Florida Amendment 3, Homestead Exemptions, Property Assessments and Spending Restriction Amendment
TOPICS: Building a Budget & Priorities, Budget Framework & the Type Used, Staffing Formulas, How to Monitor & Manage a Budget, How to Present a Budget to Superiors, Elected Officials, and the Public, and much more.
NOTE: Students must attend the entire class and bring a calculator.
