COURSE: This competency-based course is designed to teach officers the FDLE curriculum. It covers basic firearms training, range management, diagnosing shooting problems, teaching tactical shooting, equipment issues, malfunction drills, and courses of fire.
*** DAYTONA STATE REQUIREMENT COURSE PRE-REQUISITES ***
All students must hold an active General Instructor Techniques Certification PRIOR to attending this course and 3 years experience on patrol.
COURSE REQUIREMENTS: Students are required to qualify on the new FDLE 38-round Daylight Qualification and 18-round Low Light Qualification in addition to all Proficiency Evaluations without remediation. Students who cannot qualify cannot continue in the course; there is NO remediation. Students must prepare and teach a lesson from the BRT course material. A written exam is given with an 85% pass rate. Students must attend all sessions of this course.
NOTE: Students must bring AMMO & EQUIPMENT
- 1000 Rounds of ammo for Semi-Auto Pistol
- Full Duty Rig/Holster and Vest (no inside waistband or concealed holsters)
- 3 magazines, hand-held flashlight
- Ear Protection, Baseball style hat, Water – clear eye protection will be provided by DSC
- ** NO SHORTS, NO RED SHIRTS, NO RED HATS, NO RED DOT OPTICS **
