COURSE: This course provides an overview and tools for law enforcement professionals to understand the various aspects of being a middle manager, including serving as an intermediary between upper management and line supervisors, and outlining roles and responsibilities in criminal justice agencies.

TOPICS COVERED: Responsibilities of Middle Managers, Leadership, Decision Making, Ethics, Media Relations, Communications, Liability, Planning, Fiscal Management, Policy Making & Compliance, Personnel Management, and more.

STUDENTS MUST BRING THE FOLLOWING TO CLASS:

Agency position description for first line supervisors and middle managers
2.) Agency organizational chart
3.)
Agency Strategic Plan
4.) Agency Mission and Vision Statement
5.)
Agency policy regarding ethics

NOTE: Students are required to attend all sessions of the course and pass a written final exam with a minimum score of 80%. Daily attire must be business casual, professional dress, collared shirt or the approved agency uniform only.
