COURSE: This course is designed to provide criminal justice officers with the skills and strategies to safely manage high-tension encounters through effective communication, crisis intervention, and decision-making skills. This interactive course equips criminal justice professionals with proven de-escalation techniques that reduce conflict, improve public interactions, enhance officer safety, and support sound use-of-force decisions. Through real-world case studies, scenario-based exercises, and hands-on practice, participants develop skills in active listening, empathy, emotional intelligence, crisis management, and conflict resolution.
NOTE: Students must attend all sessions of the course.
