High Risk Warrant Service   

If you or your officers are involved in the execution of warrants, you are conducting one of the most hazardous high-risk duties performed in law enforcement today. Because of the inherent risks associated with these operations – including predatory suspects, improvised explosive devices (IED’s) and drug manufacturing dangers – you must be trained and experienced to minimize the risks to yourself, the suspects, bystanders and your agency.

This course will supply you with the skills and information necessary to conduct high risk warrant services from start to finish as safely as possible.

In addition to minimal classroom presentation, you will participate in a variety of practical "hands-on" force-on-force exercises including actual door breaches and dynamic suspect/drug environments using simunitions and paintballs.

Topics Include

  • Development of operational plans
  • How to approach, enter and secure a building and its occupants during entry
  • Roles and responsibilities of entry and perimeter security teams
  • Identification of essential personal equipment
  • Identification of optional equipment for special circumstances
  • Forcibly breaching locked or barricaded doors using the proper entry tools
  • Proper methods to make room entries
  • Proper methods to conduct search patterns within buildings
  • Rescue of an downed entry team member or undercover agent caught in a life-threatening situation
  • Alarm/survival stress response
  • Tactical breathing and heart rate variability
  • Visualization for enhancing tactical performance
  • How to apply peak performance skills in high stress and tactical settings


Patrol officers, investigators, supervisors, narcotics investigators, SWAT team members, command personnel, military investigative personnel, and tactical medical personnel

This class is restricted to sworn law enforcement officers and those personnel assigned directly to law enforcement agencies.

Course Length

40 hours


You are required to be in good physical health and capable of participating in the exercises.

What to Bring


  • Tactical uniform (if used by your agency)
  • Ample supply of jeans/work type clothing
  • Gun belt or drop holster
  • Shoulder-mounted rifle - only if you have a conversion kit for force-on-force scenario training
  • Load bearing vest or Tac vest (additional ceramic or rifle plates not needed)
  • Eye protection
  • Pair of light-weight leather gloves
  • Hard-sole shoes or boots
  • Your law enforcement identification


  • Long sleeve sweat shirt, jacket or BDU blouse
  • Athletic cup
  • Hydration system (Camel-pak®, etc.) for water


You will be required to complete a health status report and informed consent prior to the completion of the registration process.

You must be readily identifiable as law enforcement at all times and will be working in any environment (rain or shine, hot or cold).

Registration and Fees

Full payment must accompany all registrations. You may register online and pay with your Visa, MasterCard, Discover or American Express credit card, or you may download a Registration Form and mail it to IPTM with a check.

Cancellation/Refund Policy

Complete the Cancellation Request Form and return it to IPTM. No telephone cancellations will be accepted. A 20% administrative fee will be assessed to all refunds if the cancellation request is received within 14 days of the course start date. In lieu of a refund, student substitutions can be made or a credit can be issued for a future course. No refunds will be given for no-shows. If materials for an online course were sent to the student, the appropriate materials and shipping costs will be deducted from the refund amount. Materials may be returned to IPTM in their original condition at the student's expense. Once IPTM has received and inspected them, the refund will be processed.

Due to the automated format of online independent study courses and Videos on Demand (VoDs), no refunds or substitutions can be made after registration.

Course Confirmations

A minimum number of registrations must be received for an in-person class to run as scheduled. When the minimum criterion has been met, written confirmation will be emailed to you. Please do not travel or make airline reservations until you receive written notification confirming that the course will run as scheduled.

Transportation and Lodging

Most locations are served by several major airlines. Transportation, food and lodging are the responsibility of the student.
