Tire Examinations - Tire and Wheel Forensics (VoD)

In this Video on Demand (VoD), you will learn how to recognize wheel and tire anomalies. We will teach you how to properly and completely document the evidence for future industry, insurance, or judicial processes.

We will begin by explaining where the tire markings are, what they mean and how to document them. We will describe the scene evidence that should be remain after a blowout and the proper tire exam protocol. We will then delve into topics such as tread separation, hydroplaning, and under inflation vs. over inflation. You will also learn how to accurately measure both tread depth and tire pressure.

While this VoD will not make you an expert in tire failure analysis or tire and wheel forensics, with enough time and practical experience, your knowledge will develop sufficiently so that you may make a determination regarding the cause of the defect noted in the examination.
