Interviews and Interrogations   

Interviewing is a critical stage of the investigative process, as most case information is obtained—and many cases are solved—through effective interviews. This course is designed to provide officers with the knowledge, skills, techniques, and professional mindset needed to conduct successful interviews. Whether interviewing a homicide witness, a traffic crash or domestic violence witness, or an inmate or probationer regarding contraband, you can apply the same proven interviewing techniques to achieve effective results.

The course focuses on two primary areas: interview preparation and interview execution. Relevant case law governing interviews and interrogations is also examined.

Audience

Patrol officers, newly assigned and seasoned detectives, investigations supervisors, crime scene technicians, medical examiner and coroner investigators, and military investigative personnel

This class is restricted to sworn law enforcement officers and those personnel assigned directly to law enforcement agencies.

For Florida Officers, this course will not qualify for Salary Incentive Credit for FDLE course "Interviews and Interrogations."
