In this hands-on course, participants will learn how to install, setup, and write a program using Ladder Logic on a Programmable Control System (PLC) in the Groves Campus Training Lab. The participant will demonstrate comprehension by installing a PLC into an existing system and program functioning inputs and outputs via Ladder Logic.
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
Describe Programmable Logic Controller(PLC ) fundamentals of programming, connections, and software, requirements and resets.
Demonstrate proficiency in conceptualizing, sketching, connecting, programming, and operating a three phase motor control circuit using a PLC.
Demonstrate proficiency in conceptualizing, connecting, and programming specified sensors inputs and outputs using a PLC.
Describe the function and use of a Human Machine Interface(HMI).
Connect and program an HMI to interface with PLC controls.
Connect a variable frequency drive to PLC, program , and operate.
Troubleshoot equipment problems using a laptop and cabling connected to a PLC.
