This course introduces students to the foundational concepts of Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration (HVAC/R). Topics include refrigeration principles, heat transfer, system components, and the operation of basic compression refrigeration systems. Students will gain hands-on experience with common and specialized HVAC/R tools while learning essential maintenance practices and safety procedures. Upon successful completion, students will be able to identify HVAC/R system components, explain their functions, properly use industry-standard tools, and perform basic maintenance on refrigeration and air conditioning systems.
