Gain control of the art of painting. We will take painting from palette layout to finished works through the investigation of tools, material handling, color mixing, and traditional techniques.
The class is designed for those who are embarking on painting as well as those with experience who want to refine their skills and techniques. Although acrylics will be preferred, students with experience who work in oils are encouraged to use that medium.
Participants will need to provide their own supplies prior to the start of class. Supply list:
- One tube of acrylic paint in the following colors: yellow, red, blue, any umber or sienna color, white. Your palette will grow as we progress. There are of course, numerous yellows, reds, and blues. Choose one of each that appeal to your eye.
- Couple flat brushes - large and small version.
- Couple round brushes - large and small version.
- You will also need surfaces to work on. Canvas panels which are heavy boards laminated with primed canvas are Max's preferences. These are available in 3 to 5 packs. 11x15 inch size is suitable for our needs.
