Phlebotomy I   

Admission Policy: Applicants must HS or GED. PLB 101, PLB 102 and CPR100 must be completed in order to receive certification. Students may register for individual courses or complete the certificate program. This course introduces students to the basic procedures used for obtaining blood from veins or capillaries. it also provides skills improvement for those who are already employed in the profession. Students learn the appropriate way to use the equipment and the different types of blood tubes and draws. Upon completion, the student will be eligible to take the National Certification Exam. Required Textbook : Phlebotomy Worktext & Procedures Manual, 3rd ed, by Warekois & Robsinon, Elsevier ISBN: 978-1-4377-0991-9 *Some In-person classes to be held at COTC.
