This course lays the foundation for students and small business owners to calculate payroll, complete payroll taxes and prepare payroll records and reports. Topics include: payroll practices; payroll system procedures; gross pay computation; fringe benefits; voluntary deductions employee net pay and payroll methods; employer payroll taxes and labor planning. Applicable laws and regulations related to payroll and a real-world online/internet project are incorporated allowing you to apply concepts learned in class. The course prepares you for the NACPB certification exam. (Prerequisites: Bookkeeping I CFM 38 and Introduction to Individual Taxation CFM 46 or knowledge of bookkeeping or accounting.
