College For Kids and Community Education Refund Policy

Community Education is a self‑supporting program, and enrollment fees cover instructional and administrative costs. Because expenses are incurred before classes begin, we are often unable to recover costs after the drop deadline. To receive a refund, you must contact our office at least 7 days before the class start date. Once a class begins, all fees are nonrefundable. Cash payments are refunded by check and mailed to the address on file, while credit card payments are refunded to the original card. Refunds may take up to 4–6 weeks to process.

If Community Education cancels a class due to low enrollment, instructor availability, or facility needs, a full refund is automatically issued. If class dates or locations change, we will notify participants as soon as possible.

Professional Development Classes Refund Policy

The Business Resource Center at Merced College offers full refunds for professional development classes when cancellations are made at least 7 days before the class start date. Refunds are not available for cancellations made fewer than 7 days in advance or for no‑shows. If the Business Resource Center cancels a class, participants will receive a full refund or may transfer to another available session. Substitutions or course transfers may be approved depending on availability.
