Inside a U.S. Embassy, The Life of a Foreign Service Diplomat
NEW! The United States has the most diplomatic missions of any country in the world, including 169 of the 193 members of the United Nations and maintains "interest sections" in embassies of other countries in other locations, such as Syria and Iran. These diplomatic missions are better known as "Embassies" and are staffed by dedicated foreign service officers and specialists. The majority of Americans do not know what the Foreign Service is or understand what goes on in a U.S. Embassy. This lecture will discuss the operations of our Embassies around the world and the Foreign Service Officers who serve our country from abroad. |
