The Art of Writing Short Stories

If you’ve ever had an idea that you thought would make a good story — a short one — but weren’t sure how to get it down on paper, join us for these three sessions.

Writing short stories, especially a short-short story (often called flash fiction) can be a lot of fun. In our classes, we will learn and practice how to get the reader’s attention quickly, build to the plot and then leave them with an ending that will give them pause, a smile, a grimace, or just wanting more.

This course is designed to get us motivated to finally get to work on that story idea we’ve had tucked away for way to long. Together, we’ll prompt each other to get that story out of hiding, and by using our natural creatively, and short story writing techniques, we will write it, critique it and, share it.
