This basic/intermediate class will teach students how to get more out of their DSLR camera. They will learn how to navigate their camera settings, functions, and access other menus that will help improve their photographic skills. Students are required to bring their DSLR cameras with charged batteries for some hands-on time during each of the classes. If you own a tripod, please pack that as well. We will be taking photos throughout the class as we navigate the camera settings. Let’s have some fun!

How far has television come in the last 100 years? From the little TV that was totally black and white that everyone huddled around to see and hear (think Fred Flintstone), to the huge screens that cover the whole wall that can be controlled from a seat (think George Jetson), the television has come a long way. Let's explore TV from its birth, explore how its grown, and see where its going from here.

As the driving world gradually shifts toward electric vehicles, is now the time to consider buying one? This class is based on our journey in that direction. We will cover all aspects of electric vehicles from charging to applying tax credits and all the pros and cons in between.

Lower-limb exoskeletons have the potential to assist a wide variety of user populations in a myriad of locomotor activities. These devices can augment user performance to increase human capabilities or rehabilitate individuals with limited mobility or chronic injuries. Performance augmentation devices could reduce the strain felt by those in high-intensity professions, such as laborers, military personnel, or athletes. Meanwhile, rehabilitative exoskeletons are well-suited to assist patient populations, such as those with spinal cord injury (SCI), cerebral palsy, or multiple sclerosis.

IHMC is investigating both augmentative and rehabilitative exoskeleton technology by leveraging our expertise in both Robotics and Human Performance. Attend this presentation and watch a pre-recorded lecture at IHMC that highlights their work developing an augmentative exoskeleton for DOE workers and a rehabilitative exoskeleton for those with SCI. The presenter, Dr. Gwen Bryan, also discusses the future directions of exoskeleton technology at IHMC.

Dr. Bryan is a Research Scientist at IHMC and focuses on powered exoskeletons. She investigates lower-limb wearable robotic devices aimed at augmenting human performance in clinical, occupational, and military applications.
