Attitudes about work, careers, family life, and work life have changed steadily over the decades as each new generation comes of age. While there are many cross-generational similarities, there are also differences that can cause "generation gaps" in peoples' understanding of one another.  Those gaps can create challenges in everything from family dynamics to workplace interactions. This course seeks to help bridge the generation gap by exploring generational perspectives, challenges and goals, and dealing with age-related stereotypes.

Learn successful techniques for resolving day-to-day conflict while learning about the court's volunteer mediation program. Information will be provided about the August 2023 mediation certificate program. Facilitating the presentation are: Debbie Clark, Dir. of Case Mgmt.; MaryAnn Aiyer, ADR Director; Courtney Baker, Mediation Coordinator, of the Fifth Judicial Circuit.

Language is a powerful tool for directing and manifesting energy into form. You can change your life in a matter of moments by changing your thoughts and the words you speak. Words are powerful, so powerful that they create our reality. Words can be used to build or destroy, to heal or to harm. Enroll in this class and learn how to be more conscious of the thoughts you think and the words you speak.

Explore the realms of dream states and learn how your dreams can effect your waking life. How does symbology affect dream interpretations? Is lucid dreaming different than precognitive dreams? What happens in the hypnogogic state just before you fall asleep? Learn how to keep a dream journal and have fun delving into your own subconscious universe.

Brain scientist Dr. Jill Bolte Taylor shared her experience of recovering from a brain hemorrhage/stroke via “My Stroke of Insight” book and viral TED Talk. Her second book “Whole Brain Living: the Anatomy of Choice and the Four Characters that Drive Our Life” blends neuroanatomy with psychology to show how we can short-circuit emotional reactivity and find our way to peace. Let’s investigate, discuss, and experience this exciting strategy for a new level of empowerment and peace. Two YouTube videos will pave the way for discussion and practice.

Note: Students may choose to watch two optional YouTube videos in advance and/or purchase and begin to read the book "Whole Brain Living." The video links may be found on the print receipt after registration.

Working familiarity with skill set of Whole Brain Living as published by Jill Bolte Taylor. Sessions will focus on practice and experience of the Whole Brain Huddle. Prerequisite: Completion of "Intro to Whole Brain Living"

Covering 21 Happiness Habits may seem like a lot and reinforcing new habits takes time, so let’s spread the fun over 4 weekly sessions! Each week we’ll cover a few new habits and select some tools for practice that week. Come to learn, have fun, and be prepared to leave happier.
