Did you know Ocala has more public art per capita than the city of Chicago? Across all the arts, times are changing. Shifts are occurring to make art more accessible, more fun, interactive and inter-generational. Art can be found in public places like parks, roof tops, and sidewalks. Art is popping up unexpectedly like flash mobs in public venues, crocheted creations over trees, chalk sidewalk art, abandoned art for the taking and more! Genres are crossing lines such as integrating movie with theatre through shadow casts. Explore the latest in emerging trends in the art scene from various art organization leaders in Marion County. Learn about what they have in store for the future.
Participants will travel to these locations by personal vehicle. There are three dates where participants will travel to various locations for a tour. The schedule is as follows:

The Reilly Arts Center: 500 NE 9th Street
It opened in 2015 and is the home of the Ocala-Symphony Orchestra and hosts more than 175 events per year that include rock, orchestra, ballet, jazz, and opera performances by National-touring artists and regional and local performers alike. In 2022, the Reilly underwent a 15,500 sq. ft. expansion to include the addition of a Black Box theatre, expanded lobby and guest areas, and the Community Music Conservatory.

NOMA Gallery is a fine arts gallery that embraces all of the arts, including performing and applied arts. We provide a safe space for artists and art lover to come together as a community and to learn from each other.
Arts in Health Ocala Metro: 507 NE 8th Avenue
Arts in Health Ocala Metro (AIHOM) is a non-profit organization that connects art and healing. Our Artist Practitioners create participant-led programming to engage the healing power of art to improve lives.
The Brick/MCA: 23 SW Broadway Street
Brick City Center o f the Arts is in historic downtown Ocala. The Brick offers 12 exhibits per year providing opportunity for regional artists to show and sell their work. Programming including artists' talks and demonstrations are held thorughout the year. The Gallery Gift shop offers a venue for emerging and establlished artists to showcase their smaller items including pottery, jewelry, fused and stained glass, and orignal art in all mediums. The Brick also serves as a unique and affordable rental venue and includes access to the beautiful courtyard adjacent to the building.
The Appleton Museum: 4333 E. Silver Springs Blvd.
The Appleton Museum of Art, a campus of the College of Central Florida, is home to an extraordinary permanent collection of over 24,000 objects and works of art around the world. In addition to the permanent collection and temporary exhibitions, the museum hosts special events, studio art classes and outreach programs throughout the year.
Ocala Civic Theatre: 4337 E. Silver Springs Blvd.
The Ocala Civic Theatre has been uplifting, inspiring, and entertaining our community for more than 70 years. Founded in 1950, OCT is one of the largest community theatres in the state and serves 65,000 local residents each season.
