Mixed Media   

Learn how to make patriotic art using acrylic on canvas and paper. Students will learn to apply the traditional red, white and blue American colors on canvas and use paper creating a mixed media piece of artwork. On the second day artwork is sanded to give it an aged feel. Students will also learn to wire their canvas and take home a piece that is ready to hang. All materials included.

Day 1- 

Paint "Love Gives you Wings," on an 11x14 canvas starting with a colorful background and use a handmade template for heart and wings. Start second canvas by creating background. 

Day 2- 

Paint "True Colors," on previously prepared 11x14canvas adding paper to create a mixed media piece of art. Sand both pieces lightly for an aged look. Students learn how to properly wire their own art so they take home 2 pieces of artwork that is ready to hang!

Beginners will be provided entry level materials with a $3/session fee payable at the beginning of each session. A supplies list will be provided to all others . This course consists of 4 sessions.  Lots of hands-on guidance is provided by the instructor beginning with a 15 minute demonstration followed by an hour and a half of independent exploration ending with a 15 minute sharing of student efforts.
