Gain a foundation of knowledge and skill necessary for an entry level position in a metal machine shop. Students will be taught fundamental concepts such as shop safety, precision measurement, blueprint reading, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).  Lab sessions will also provide ample time for students to develop proficiency with manual machine tools, as well as an introduction to computer aided design (CAD) and computer aided manufacturing (CAM) software, as well as the set-up and operation of computer numerical control (CNC) machine tools.
