Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)   

Nurse aides are the vital link between patients, RNs, and doctors. Get New York State-certified with this accelerated 120 hour course that combines 90 hours of classroom and lab instruction with 30 supervised clinical hours of training. Upon successful completion of the program students are registered for and take the NYS certification exam.

Training Requirements: Successfully pass a criminal background check, pass two reading comprehension tests, proof of a current physical exam, vaccinations, and TB test results.

    Class registration and payment will open on April 12, 2023.

    The classroom and lab portion will be held on the MVCC Rome campus. Clinical dates are tentatively scheduled for 4:00 pm – 9:00 pm, June 19, 20, 21, 22, 26, 27 at Colonial Park Rehabilitation & Nursing Center in Rome.

    Cost for the class is $1500 and is due in full before the class starts.

    Also, before being considered fully registered all students must submit proof of COVID-19 vaccination, immunization records showing two MMR doses and a completed physical within 12 months of class start date.

    The CNA classroom/lab training location is the Rome MVCC campus and the clinical is on-site at Rome Health Hospital.
