Rising Senior Workshops

    In the first half of this workshop, students will learn the basics of creating simple but unique graphics, as well as logo creation for personal branding, using Adobe Illustrator. They can also create bespoke logos that exemplify their style and “brand” identity with an understanding of image-text relationships and how type communicates to certain audiences.  They will then turn their logo/image into a screen-printing design and print t-shirts. In the second half of this workshop, students will use smartphones, DSLRs and the Adobe Lightroom, to create eye-catching photos that represent their personality.  In addition, students will gain an understanding of the exposure triangle, histograms, and meta-data.

    Create game-ready fantasy props and bring your world to life in 3D.

    In the first half of the week, students will digitally sculpt fantasy artifacts, relics, or statues that add depth to their mythical world. They'll learn the fundamentals of digital sculpting—blocking out forms, adding detail, and creating objects rich with story. In the second half, the focus shifts to creating video game and animation-ready 3D assets. Students will model, unwrap, texture, and render a detailed prop or environment piece, building skills used in game and animation pipelines while emphasizing visual storytelling through form and detail.

    In the first half of the week, students will dive into the creative process—brainstorming, sketching, and refining ideas—as they build the foundation for their own original fantasy world. They’ll explore cultures, environments, architecture, and lore through concept sketching and quick studies. In the second half, the focus shifts to character design. Students will bring a unique fantasy character to life by developing backstory, personality, and visual style, including anatomy, costume, and expression. Final work will include character development elements such as a turnaround sheet, pose studies, and key story moments.

    Stage to Screen: The Flip-Side Stories is a weeklong, hands-on workshop designed for high school juniors transitioning into seniors that blends theatrical performance with modern film production. Each morning, students will dive into the foundations of stage acting, character building, and storytelling inside the theater. In the afternoon, they will immerse themselves into the film venue, where they will take the characters they created in theater and direct short films that explore what happens when a classical theater character is dropped into the modern world. The workshop culminates in a final screening event where students present their original short films.
