Enrollment Process: These courses are grant funded. Due to grant requirements, each student is eligible for one free FastTrack+ course. Students who wish to enroll in additional courses will be responsible for paying the full tuition cost.

To participate, students must be eligible to work in the United States and meet all other eligibility requirements. Your registration is not finalized until all of the following steps have been completed:

  1. Register Online: Complete your online registration below.
  2. Advisor Follow-Up: Our FastTrack+ coordinator will contact you to schedule an intake meeting at the SUNY Oneonta ExCL Center. 
  3. Finalize Enrollment: Complete required intake paperwork with FastTrack+ representative to confirm eligibility and finalize enrollment.

    This all-inclusive program provides the tools you need to become a NYS security guard. Complete the Eight-Hour Pre-Assignment Training, 16-Hour On-the-Job Training, and NYS application and fingerprinting, and learn about job opportunities. Employers typically require a high school diploma or equivalent and a driver’s license. Attendees must be 18+.

    Topics covered in this course include the role of the security guard, legal powers and limitations, emergency situations, communications and public relations, access control, ethics and conduct, incident command systems, and terrorism.


    Please note this four-day course will take place at SUNY Oneonta's ExCL Center between Saturday, June 6th and Tuesday, June 9th.
