Want to become a lifeguard? Learn to recognize and respond quickly and effectively to aquatic emergencies to prevent drowning and injuries. With successful completion, you will be American Red Cross-certified in Lifeguard Training, First Aid, and CPR for the Lifeguard.
Prerequisites: Students must be able to jump in, submerge, and resurface then nonstop swim 150 yards (6 lengths) (either front crawl/freestyle or breaststroke) tread water without using their hands for 2 minutes, then swim an additional 50 yards (2 lengths). All 3 skills must be done in a continuous fashion.
Students must be at least 15 years old on or before the last day of class.
Online portion of the class must be completed before the in-person classroom session begins. (6/29)
