If yes, then this class is for you! In this session, you will learn the basics of playing Tejano and Conjunto-style music. You will be taught the major scales and how to read music. By the end of this six-week class, you will be able to play simple songs. For this class, students must have a button accordion in the key of GCF. Ages 15+ welcome.     This class is a continuation of the Basics of Playing the Button Accordion, Level 1. In this session, students will advance to following basic music sheets with scales already learned and will be able to play easy songs while accompanied by a Bajo Sexto, played by the instructor.

    Students must have their own button accordion in the key of GCF. Prerequisite for the class is the completion of Beginning Button Accordion Level 1. Ages 15+ welcome. Rentals are available at Alamo Music Center, contact Gary Smith (gary.smith@alamomusic.com or 210-538-9421) for pricing.

    HealthRHYTHMS® is a research-based life enhancement tool. It is a group drumming recreational music-making (RMM) protocol based upon published studies by a research team led by Barry Bittman, M.D., a neurologist. Studies have demonstrated immune system strengthening, improved mood states, and reduced stress and burnout. No previous musical experience is needed and all instruments will be provided. HealthRhythms® is NOT a drumming lesson, performance-based class, or standard drum circle. It promotes non-verbal and verbal communication and self-expression through drums and percussion. Your instructor, Jorge Ochoa, is an occupational therapist and trained REMO HealthRhythms Facilitator. For ages 18+. The class includes group discussion and insight.
