Pick up your paint brushes and have some fun with a different type of paint- gouache. Like watercolor but with stronger pigments, this paint is available in tubes and pans. It can produce both soft and solid, vibrant looks. Cleanup is a breeze with water. Charcoal is an incredible tool to use for dramatic, quick looks in drawing. Come give charcoal a try in this class: No drawing experience is necessary…beginners are welcome! Materials needed: drawing paper/pad with smooth texture, 60 lb. rating or higher, #2 pencil, white eraser, clear ruler, black charcoal pencil (like General’s brand 6B-ext. soft), hand sharpener, small amount of blue or clear tape, blending tortillions aka stumps (sold singly and in packs/ok to start with one), and eventually a fixative spray, discussed in class.
