A creative writing experience for the new or experienced writer. Learn how to take your story ideas out of your head and onto the page. Each week we will explore our creativity using fun and inspiring prompts and exercises, followed by helpful and supportive feedback. Workshop guidelines and practices ensure a safe and encouraging environment for all writers. Aspects of craft - character development, pot description, etc. - are also discussed.
Write to publish! Whether it’s for a newsletter, a magazine, or a book, if you don’t know where to begin, this course is for you. For beginner and unpublished writers, this course combines weekly writing assignments with in-class discussion. Topics include grammar, sentence structure, queries, writing an opening “hook”, finding a market, and how to submit your ideas for publication. Adults ages 18+.
A 3-hour writing workshop for the beginning, experienced, or shy writer. After generating new work in class, you will receive guidance, insights, and instruction in your genre-specific writing group.
