Whether you are a complete beginner or have some experience, this creative journey will equip you with the skills to create beautiful handmade items and enjoy a lifelong hobby filled with relaxation and fulfillment. Join us and unleash your creativity in the world of crochet, from scarves to amigurumi, as you embark on a rewarding and meditative crafting experience.  Adult learners age 18+ are welcome.

    Please bring one skein of #4 worsted medium-weight yarn in any light solid color (no variegated), a size I (5.5mm) crochet hook, and scissors. Optional: 3 skeins of coordinating colors. Suggested Yarns: Red Heart Super Saver (Joann’s or Walmart), Big Twist Value (Joann’s), Mainstay 100% Acrylic (Walmart), I Love This Yarn (Hobby Lobby), Yarn Bee Soft and Sleek (Hobby Lobby).     This class is perfect for anyone with basic crochet skills and wanting to improve your techniques. The class is led by an experienced instructor, Rebeca Grieco, and it’s all about practicing and perfecting your crochet skills. You can bring any crochet project you are currently working on and spend a few hours with the group having fun while getting support from the teacher and other students. It is a great opportunity to meet fellow crochet enthusiasts, exchange ideas and learn new techniques. Adult learners age 18+ are welcome.

    Syllabus: Besides the projects that you bring with you, each class will have a specific project. Apr. 10 to May 15: Tunisian Handbag. No class on 4/24.

You will learn sewing symbols and common sewing terminology to help you better understand how to follow written instructions to complete a future project. This class will not cover use of a sewing machine or sewing techniques. It will benefit you if you have had some sewing experience before you take this class, though it is not required. Please bring pencil and paper to take notes. If you have a question about a specific pattern, please feel free to bring it and we will address questions if time allows.

    You will learn the following:
    • A quick safety lesson
    • The "anatomy" of a sewing machine and its useful parts
    • Sewing basics: pins, needles, thread, cutting tools, the importance of pressing/ironing
    • How to thread sewing machine
    • How to wind a bobbin and load it
    • How to change stitch length, stitch width, and stitch style, and when to use them
    • How to sew straight stitches
    • How to gauge seam allowance
    • Hacks to make your time at the sewing machine easy

    Price of class includes fabric for your creation, thread and tools available in class for your use. Upon completion of class you will receive a “Sewing Drivers License”.


    BYOM- Bring your own machine! (Seriously, bring yours. We won’t be able to provide machines for class. Thanks!)
