Learn the basics of crochet and begin a hobby that can last a lifetime. Students will learn how to read a pattern and other essential techniques while making various projects. Please bring one skein of #4 worsted medium weight yarn in any light solid color (no variegated), a size H crochet hook, and scissors. Optional 3 skeins of coordinating colors.

Make friends with a sewing machine! Bring yours or learn on ours. All materials are included in this fun 2-hour class. You will learn: Basic parts of a machine and how a sewing machine works; how to wind a bobbin, change needles and thread the machine; how to sew straight; how to manage speed control; pivoting and basic sewing techniques, plus some great sewing hacks. PROJECT: Cord keeper with velcro closure. If you like this class and would like to take the Part 2 or Part 3 classes in this series, talk to your instructor after class about our follow-on package.
What is Zenbroidery? It's like adult coloring, but with needle and thread! This in-person class comes with all materials you need to create and finish your project. You will not finish your project in class but you will learn all the basics so that you can finish it at your leisure! You will learn some basic hand embroidery stitches, (which are the building blocks for more complex stitches). Depending on the project design you will learn 5-6 of any of these: --running stitch --backstitch --stem stitch --split stitch --french knot --chain stitch --lazy daisy --satin stitch Materials included are: Embroidery hoop One embroidery needle Embroidery floss (a variety of colors depending on project design) Fabric or felt remnants Buttons, sequins, or beads.
