    Learn about the original Texas food stands and food trucks from the 19th century! This is a delicious history class spanning 1860s through 1880s, with tastings of period-inspired recipes and the flavors of San Antonio’s plazas and Chisolm Trail cattle drives. Join us as we taste and sip our way through different times in history! Explore how our great state has been shaped by the foods we grow, prepare and eat. 

    While you’ll lend a hand with light prep, this is a chef-led demonstration where the instructor handles the cooking so you can focus on the history and the tasting.

    Instructor Melissa Tarun has taught culinary and crafting classes in Austin and San Antonio since 1998. She is a Wilton Hall of Fame cake decorating instructor and the owner of Whimsy Craft Collective, an online retail crafting site.
     

    A $10 cash materials fee is payable to the instructor at the beginning of class.

Taste traditional and inspired recipes that have graced Easter day tables for 200 years. Join us as we taste and sip our way through different times in history! Explore how our great state has been shaped by the foods we grow, prepare and eat.
